Summary:

TRANSITIO is an exercise in introspection based on moving images. It represents turning points throughout life; it is waking up, being aware of anger, sadness or pain; examining experiences, acknowledging emotions, forgiving all pain. TRANSITIO is about leaving the past behind, overlooking, grieving, and then moving on, to live in the present moment.

Description:

Frank Ferrer demonstrates that art can be approached from the new digital technologies with discipline and sensitivity.

Despite his traditional training in painting, Ferrer's transition to the digital universe was perfectly natural. Regardless of the medium used, his work is based on a solid foundation of research and concepts revised until exhaustion. The questions raised by Frank Ferrer's work are the same ones that have been raised, in different ways, throughout human evolution: the immensity of the Universe and the unveiling of its intimate mysteries; the intrinsic loneliness of the human being, and the imperfection of the encounter with the “other”.

This desire to delve into the intimate and the universal has led him to approach fractal geometry and try to emulate the complex processes of accumulation and superposition of structures, somewhat independent, but also part of a larger whole. In this way, Ferrer operates with matrices, colors, and shapes that gradually and organically multiply, forming layers and layers on the screen. With the elements at his disposal and exhausting all his possibilities, he tries to suggest what he perceives of the world through his reason and his intuition: the constant wonder of the natural processes of a universe in its incessant struggle against the entropy; a universe to which the infinitely complex human being also belongs, after all.
