Summary:

With a fierce ambition to change the game, AMF1 is committed to making a mark on and off the track, having a positive impact on the communities where it races. Ahead of the 2023 Miami Grand Prix, AMF1 Team reached out to local creators to help co-create its story through a partnership with the Motorsport Collective, which connected the team to Cuban-born artist and Miami resident Rei Ramirez.  

Description:

Largely self-taught, honing his skills through experimentation and self-expression, Rei has immersed himself in the creation of mural projects and his work has graced the streets of Miami and beyond. 

Part of his latest artwork, will transition from the physical to the digital as it’s painted on physical canvas and then digitalised.

All Primary Proceeds of the sale, after artist fees, will go to charity Dibia DREAM which seeks to spark social change by providing STEM education to young people throughout Miami, helping to open the door to career pathways in these fields and fostering youth development. 

About the auhor:

Rei Ramirez is a Cuban-born artist based in North Miami. He grew up in various parts of the 305, including Hialeah and West Miami and though Rei pursued a degree in graphic design and dabbled in art courses, he’s largely self-taught, learning to create through experimentation and self-expression.  

Rei’s early influences included comic books and fantasy art, but he also found inspiration in the works of impressionism painters like Monet. Participation in live art painting events after college garnered him accolades from producers and art-lovers alike.  

Rei immersed himself into the creation of mural work and participated in numerous prominent exhibitions and artist collective projects and continues to grow as an artist through studio work, art shows, exhibitions, and mural work part-time.  

Rei’s murals grace the walls of public schools, educational centers, non-profit & for-profit businesses in Little Haiti, Overtown, Miami Gardens, Hialeah, Brickell and Fort Lauderdale.
